Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Extending a partnership that began in 2016, officials from the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and BUBBA burger today confirmed a three-year extension, making BUBBA burger the Official Burger of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship through at least the 2020 season.

“BUBBA burger is an enthusiastic partner of IMSA and we are thrilled to extend and expand our relationship,” said IMSA President Scott Atherton. “We’ve enjoyed working with BUBBA burger and know that this partnership has introduced many to both of our products. It’s also safe to say that both IMSA and BUBBA burger have earned new fans through this relationship and we’re delighted to work together to continue building both of our brands.”

In addition to the extension of its WeatherTech Championship status, BUBBA burger will become the Official Burger of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge beginning in 2018, and plans were unveiled for unique activation opportunities beginning next season. There will be four BUBBA burger Scavenger Hunts at WeatherTech Championship and Continental Tire Challenge events next season, with giveaways and other promotional items geared toward the at-track camping audience.

This announcement complements BUBBA burger’s recently-announced partnership with Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and existing relationships with select IMSA Promoter Partner venues, including title sponsor of the BUBBA burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach.

“The high energy and excitement at IMSA events is something BUBBA burger wants to support and continue to be associated with,” said BUBBA Foods CEO Billy Morris. “BUBBA burger is pleased to continue our partnership with IMSA and we look forward to expanding our activation during IMSA events in 2018 and beyond.”

BUBBA burger products are sold throughout the United States. They are available in more than 11 different varieties, including turkey and veggie BUBBA burgers.

Next up for the WeatherTech Championship is the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 2:30 p.m. ET, live on FS1. The Road America race weekend also includes a two-hour Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race on Saturday, Aug. 5.
