Success in the USA
Audi Sport customer racing, USA, began their long-anticipated US debut in 2012 with the Audi R8 LMS. In a few short years, the US market has seen much success, winning the 2013 and 2016 Rolex 24 At Daytona and the 2014 Petit Le Mans. Since 2014, USA race teams have consistently finished in the top three for driver and championship points including the 2016 Manufacturers Championship. There is now a strong internal infrastructure with technical and parts support available throughout the season. In 2018, the Audi Sport customer offerings are now competing in the IMSA series. The Audi R8 GT3 LMS is now joined by the Audi R8 LMS GT4 and Audi RS 3 LMS in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge support series.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features sports cars modified and built by worldwide manufacturers as real racing cars. The WeatherTech Championship has three different classes, two being based on road-going super cars (GTLM, GTD) and one being entirely a prototype car (P), demonstrating the latest automotive technology.
The IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge features sports cars from manufacturers worldwide, straight from the showroom floor, racing side-by-side with only minor modifications. The three classes competing simultaneously on track in the Continental Tire Challenge are Grand Sport (GS), Touring Car (TCR) and Street Tuner (ST). Driver line ups feature a mix of Pro and Pro-Am driver pairings.
